Scribblers Festival

2018 - 2024
Creative Learning
Scribblers is a celebration of storytelling in all its forms for children and young people.

Scribblers Family Festival is a weekend full of creativity, imagination, and endless possibilities. Held in the heart of Perth CBD in the Cathedral Square Precinct, the festival celebrates storytelling for the young and young-at-heart. Uniting creatives and families with storytellers and stories from all corners of the globe, it is a weekend to be fearless, embrace new ideas, and let your imagination take flight.

We bring families together with storytellers from all over the world—graphic novelists, authors, oral storytellers, illustrators, cartoonists and more—to ignite curiosity and a love of learning in children and young people, helping them make sense of the world around and within them.

As FORM’s quintessential public-facing program for children and young people, the festival plays a unique role in achieving FORM’s mission. Engaging Western Australian youth, families and schools to value and develop creative capabilities while experiencing the joy and wonder of stories, art and self-expression lays the foundation for a strong and sustainable creative economy that benefits all Western Australians for generations to come.

Our diverse programming was underpinned by an intentionally integrated Creative Learning strategy, utilising the pedagogy, methods and experts from FORM’s Creative Schools to enhance its impact.

“Absolutely loved the opportunity it gave my girls in terms of learning and utilising a skill in real time and context. My girls left feeling amazing and with a greater confidence in both approaching and speaking with people in a public forum and a better understanding of what and why and how people podcast. We’re so grateful for the entire event.”
Scribblers is a vibrant celebration of books, creativity, and imagination where children and families explore new worlds and are inspired by the authors, illustrators, and storytellers who shape them.
