Spend a Saturday morning with Ben David as he shares the stories, ideas and making behind Threads of Listening.
Created during Ben's Artist in Residence program at FORM Gallery, Threads of Listening explores the connections between touch, sound, landscape and memory. Each hand-tufted textile carries its own sound, and at the heart of the exhibition a large interactive work transforms touch into field recordings gathered in Claremont and across Western Australia.
In this relaxed talk, Ben will take you inside his practice as a textile artist and his work in disability-led arts and access. Hear about the stories woven into each piece, the ideas behind his hand-tufted textiles and the collaborative process that brings community voices into the work.
Bring your curiosity and your questions. After the talk, stay on to explore the exhibition and experience the works up close.
